Celebrations

This article is so right. It has happened to me more than once. This time, it's taking me ages to find my voice again, not that I haven't tried. I have a stash of half completed drafts waiting to be published. They're not good enough, so I trash them and start a new one today.

The day began with a meeting with a new vendor - a Dutch guy in his fifties. Through our conversation, we discovered that we both enjoy writing. He has published a book and contributed many articles to magazines. That was when I realised that if I don't keep forging ahead with my blog, I'll gradually lose the interest to write.

It's not that I have nothing to write about. In the last few weeks, we had four birthday celebrations in our family. YK turned 21. Then my youngest niece turned 6 and the oldest one, 16.
In May, we celebrated mom's 76th birthday with two chocolate cakes. Then along came Mother's Day. By then we were so sick of eating cakes, my sis-in-law hatched a plan. She wanted all of us to contribute wonderful memories and photos so she could put together a scrapbook for our mom. Being the most artistic one in the family, she prepared cards and tags for us to pen our thoughts.
Bits and pieces from me.
She has this exquisite talent of collating all our scribbles and photos into an elegant book complete with a storyline. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the handiwork which is now with my mother. What's important is, mom is so blessed to have a loving family. Mom has always been our pillar of support.

To me, being a mom means doing our best for the children even if we know that our efforts might not be fully appreciated. Since we've brought them into this world (kicking and screaming), we should make it a better place for them.

When YK suggested treating me to lunch on Mother's Day, I was filled with such happiness. It doesn't matter where we go or what we eat, it really is the thought that counts. We ended up having a great lunch at Marche.
To round up the celebrations, I bought myself a ticket to Tulipmania at Gardens By the Bay on the next day. It turned out to be a wise decision. It was less crowded, I could walk around freely and enjoy the beautiful blooms.

I usually do not leave many remarks, however i did a few searching and
wound up here "Celebrations". And I do have a few questions for you if you don't mind. Is it only me or does it look like some of the responses appear as if they are written by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are writing at additional places, I'd like to
follow anything new you have to post. Would you make a list of all of your public sites like
your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

Yah, Tulipmania would have been so much more enjoyable if it wasn't so crowded when I was there! But I was hoping that I can go check out "Pollen", the cafe within the Dome. Did you have the chance to check out Pollen?
