Like the vegetables in my garden, I have been feeling under the weather these two days. With the flu bug swirling around, it is only a matter of time before I'm infected. My annual flu shot helps to mitigate the effects, so I don't feel too ill, just mildy uncomfortable.
Of course, flu is a dirty word these days, thanks to the swine flu hogging the headlines. People look at you suspiciously the moment you let out a little sniffle.
When I brought mum to the dentist this morning, we had to go through the temperature-taking (by masked nurses) and declaration (that we have not traveled to Mexico and affected countries) ritual. I was hoping that I wasn't running a temperature and the thermometer showed a reading of 35.9 degree celcius. It's a little low, don't you think?
Anyway, the dentist gave mum an all-clear. The wound is healing well and soon she will be able to chew her food without any worries of infection or pain. I really hope we don't have to visit the dentist anytime soon.
Due to the stormy weather, we were stuck in traffic all the way from the house to the clinic in the city. It was largely due to the morning hour traffic as well. Not forgetting the numerous accidents on the wet roads.
We've been getting early morning downpours which is great for sleeping in during the weekends but certainly not welcomed on a Monday morning like this. I couldn't take Rusty out for his walk, so I had to bring him along with me to my parent's house. Now he's in the office.
Everytime someone knocks on the door, he runs to check the person out. I think we've found ourselves an official guard dog. Otherwise you can find him lying under the table like a sleeping partner.

Get better soon...yeah "flu" is a dirty word! We managed to escape and we were just only a little above Mexico in So-Cal!
I really like the idea of bringing dogs to workplace. When I was visiting the bank HQ in Frankfurt last year, a few of my fellow colleagues brought theirs to the office! I just love them!
JY - Yah, I was getting a bit worried for you there but was glad to hear you're back before the virus spreads like wildfire.
EE - Yes I know! How I wish my workplace is a little bit more pet friendly and people are tolerant towards dogs like in Europe. I have seen dogs traveling on long train journeys with their owner. They're so well trained.
hope u are well soon, sister. i think u're too tired entertaining all of us. =P

Hey... get well soon!
"People look at you suspiciously the moment you let out a little sniffle." So true...it is almost unavoidable I guess. It could be useful when in the middle of a crowd you know, to sneeze and say something like: "Wasn't our trip to Mexico fantastic" :)
I wish your sniffles better.
Fry - No lah. I think I caught it from my bro.
Wen - Oh, how wicked! But fun! :-))
Petunia - Thanks. better now.
World - Thank you! Yes, it's clearing up.
Best way to keep the sniffles away is to take at least 100mg of Vit C tablets per day. Step up to 250mg if feeling run down... also being always relaxed helps...
Thanks Auntie Lucia. I don't drink water. That's also another problem.
Oh how I envy you and the rain. It's still scorching here.
Get well soon.
If u don't drink water, drink more juices. It helps. Always think of our bodies as machines that can be self-repairing, always provided we follow the IM faithfully...
