“You have been naming the creatures wrongly in your blog." CH pointed out helpfully. "That’s a frilled lizard, not a flying lizard. Frilled lizards don’t fly. This one here, is a scorpion, not a scorpion spider.”
“Oh! Whatever… These creatures don’t fascinate me.” I said.
“Perhaps you were too busy freaking out when the guides were passing them around. What fascinates you then?”
That question stumped me. Come to think of it, I have not been fascinated with anything much lately…unless you take my obsession with blogging into consideration.
At one time, it was my garden. I couldn’t wait for the weekend to roll around so that I could work tirelessly in the yard…weeding, mulching, planting, trimming and digging….Then came my obsession with running. Like clockwork, I’ll put on my running shoes and head to the gym every evening. As far as I can remember, I was always fascinated with someone or something. It keeps me going and makes waking up everyday a joy!
If you notice, kids are always fascinated. It could be a ladybug or a book, a dinosaur, a song or a dress….I remember the joyful expression on YK’s face the first time he walked barefoot on the grass as a toddler, and how his tiny face crinkled up with every step… feeling so tickled...
We mustn’t lose that childlike wonder or life will cease to become enchanting or fascinating.

It's funny how that works. One day we have this passion, this thing we've just got to do, and the next it seems boring and we're on to something new. Some people would call this childlike, others would call it ADD. :)
