Mumbo jumbo

It's Monday morning and I'm suffering from the consequences of inadequate training. Yes, I have to admit I was too ambitious to take on a 15k run in the competitive category of the Saucony Passion Run yesterday. Unlike my running buddies who had been training hard for the Sundown Marathon just a week ago, I had been slacking off like a sack of potatoes.

While the run was a breeze for them, it was a pretty gruelling one for me. My legs were heavy like lead, my knees felt inflammed and the run seemed to go on forever! They were sore during and after the run.

After the run, I rushed home to send SK for his Chinese tuition, then walked to the mall to order a new fridge for the new house. The timing was perfect! As part of the Great Singapore Sale, I enjoyed another $100 discount. Plus, I received a FREE vacuum cleaner, foldable bicycle and $40 shopping vouchers from Isetan!

I never knew shopping can be so rewarding. And exciting too. This morning, I was quivering with excitement because I was taking part in the Standard chartered Bank credit card promotion. The first 50 cardmembers (who spent $XX amount within a certain period) who smsed to the bank (from 9am to 6am today) will be able to redeem a 40" Sony LCD Bravia TV.

Now, I don't believe in lucky draws but this time, I really should try my luck. I could save a bundle if I could redeem a TV. So I watched the clock like a hawk and even set an alarm to go off at 8am (well, it didn't). At 9am sharp, I sent out the sms. Just in case it didn't go through for whatever reasons, I sent another one at 9.02am. I really want that TV!

I wish myself good luck!

A bit disappointed could not meet you yesterday. It was so crowded. My hubby and two friends went to cheer me on. We keep losing one another :-) So quickly left the place after I finished the 10km.

Shape Run we must meet ok?

The foldable bike will come in handy for the next run!

CH,

You bought the foldable bike? Good or not? How much does it cost?

I kept looking out for you at the open field and during the run. I guess it would be rather hard to spot you since I have not seen you in person before. We can look quite different in our sports attire and even more different when we're running :-)

Yah, Shape Run must meet. Best is to meet near the medal collection area.

Ya lor. During the run, I kept looking at the side that has made the turn. Since your category took off half hour before mine, you must have turned when I run that side. But could not see you leh. It's not surprising la. So many people.

I also walked around the open field to look for you when it was around your time to start the race. Also could not find you. Haha. Guess we were not destined to meet .. yet lor.

Water - Just as well cos I didn't do well at all! :-)

The foldable bike is a free gift that came with the fridge I ordered. According to Best,it costs $249. I haven't seen it yet. Maybe then I can start training on that bike for a Duathlon.

If I use that bike for the duathlon, I will surely come in last! ha ha!

Ting,

I don't think such foldable bike will live up to Duathlons. Honest. Cycle half way and it folds up by itself how? :-)

These are for fun, like for housewives to ride to the market :-) The wheels are tiny!
