Retro chic

This afternoon I helped YK and his group check into a chalet at Changi. Their teacher who had made the booking was away marking examination papers, so they needed an adult to check them in.

I haven't been to a chalet for donkey years, so this little excursion brought back many nostalgic memories of school days. Well, the government chalets here haven't changed a bit since my time. Everything here is so retro!

I could see the how their faces dropped when they saw the furniture and floral curtains. These are so 60s.

It took us a long time to find the chalet. At first we thought these shabby looking bungalows were the ones...

After checking every single unit, we still couldn't find it. We drove further up the windy road and confusing estate...

Finally, we found it! This is the backyard.

So retro!

Dining hall with a feature wall.

That's retro indeed! It does remind me of my childhood home. :)

Ok, now that is really retro alright ... LOL!

But it does bring back memories for me as well cos I remember back in my younger days, me and my buddies would go book this chalets in Port Dickson and they did have curtains exactly like that ... hahaha ...

My Nans fireplace used to look like that grey wall!

I bet if the walls could speak they would have some tales to tell.
