So blessed

I never knew that by buying a new washing machine, I can make someone so very happy.

When my dear friend in Oregon heard that I had bought a place, she wanted to surprise me with a washing machine. But she's all the way there and I'm all the way here, so it isn't the easiest thing for her to do. Finally, she had to tell me to go pick one and she'll pay for it. Of course, I dilly dallied while she nagged at every opportunity.

"Having a washer is so important. Without one, we would have to resort to washing dirty linen in the canal and risk getting eaten by crocodiles. How horrible that would be! ", she clucked.

Knowing how my life depended on it, I went out and bought a washer last Friday but didn't tell her until this morning. She was chuckling with such delight, she must have laid an egg or two! You should know who this generous friend is by now.

Several weeks ago, she also did something that moved me to tears. In fact, I am so blessed to have wonderful friends and family in my life. My younger brother gave me a breakfast maker and his very creative wife has offered to make a photo montage of my family. Remember the scrapbook?

Before I went to bed last Thursday, I received an sms from my older brother, offering to buy me a HDTV set. I was so touched, I hid under the covers and cried. He knows I'm vying for a TV under the credit card redemption scheme but if I'm not lucky enough, he'll buy me one.

CH has offered to sponsor an appliance for my home and his sister is giving me a Korean BBQ set. I am filled with such gratitute knowing how blessed I am.

Hold on hold on... don't you know that I plan to out-source my washing to Singapore now, ahem, a specific place in Singapore? :)

Unlike in the West, getting a place and furnishing it in Singapore are REALLY expensive. So everyone should help a little :)
