Take a break

Life is back to normal today, albeit a bit slothish. I mean these 1-day midweek holiday does nothing for the body and soul. Just when you're getting so relaxed, it's time to get back to early morning and work routine again.

Thanks to my brother, we had fried bee hoon for dinner last night with the leftover popiah filling. SK had bee hoon again for breakfast this morning. CH had the same thing for breakfast too because I made him bring some home. We still have some in the fridge. My brother is always so generous. He cooked too much.

Our plans to meet some friends to catch Mama Mia! The Movie followed by dinner tonight has changed. They've postponed it due to urgent matters. I was planning on making a quick meal for the kids before leaving the house (not bee hoon again!) but looks like we'll have a proper dinner of rice and some dishes instead. I'm sure they'll appreciate this.

Some of our counterparts in Malaysia, Indonesia and Dubai are still on leave due to the Hari Raya holiday, so it's pretty quiet on the workfront. Maybe I should go on leave. It's funny how employees are allocated a number of days off each year but it has never crossed my mind to take a day off just to stay home and chill out. I take snatches of time off every now and then to run errands or go on vacation but to really shut myself off from work and responsibilities... nope!

I haven't gone on any vacation this year, so I have plenty of leave to clear. Maybe I should make myself scarce more often especially when school holiday starts in November. The kids will like having me around while I can't speak for my colleague. Sounds like a good plan to me!

I'm off work for a whole week soon. Can't wait!

By the way, Mama Mia! is a great 'feel good' movie. Hope you get to see it soon.
