New year resolutions

My resolution this year is to stop making resolutions. Yet at the back of my mind, there are a couple of things I hope to accomplish this year.
1. To start running.
2. To spend less and save more.

It's already the 7th day of the new year and I haven't even put on my running shoes. What was I thinking? After laying off for more than 2 years, I should jump out of bed at 5am on 1 Jan to run round my block? But there is hope of course, I still have 51 more weeks to get my act together.

Resolution no. 2 is proving to be a bigger challenge. On 1 January, I lost my mobile phone in Hong Kong Airport.

Now that the Christmas season is over, the credit card bills have started piling up. It's time to pay up for the vacations, shopping and merry making. And get a new phone.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, there are festive goodies to be bought and hong baos (lucky money) to be distributed.

Looking at the chain of events, it's impossible to save any money in January. I'll cut myself some slack and start working on my resolutions after the Chinese New Year instead.

I also don't feel like making NY resolutions 'coz I couldn't even do last year's well, even though I only had two last year he he...so I'm just going to take it easy and do whatever I can do to make this year full.

May all things go well. Even if the resolutions and directions change along the way.
