Goodbye

We met for the very first time, at the booth outside Ikea Store one Sunday afternoon. You were sitting there quietly but you had that special sparkle that caught my eye. I walked over and hesitated for a moment. When I reached your side, your attraction was quite irresistable. It was love at first sight. You were a knight in shiny armour. I stretched my hands and caressed your hard and strong body. I held on to you and never let go.

Through the years, you've enchanted me with your skills and beauty. You were always by my side, through the good times and the bad. We traveled the world together and celebrated every single milestone in my life. You have never failed me and you were my closest, most intimate friend.

You brought me endless joy and helped me capture the fondest memories, even won me accolades on many ocassions. Through you, I have made so many new friends and fostered lasting friendships. You even help me so much at work. I trust you totally.

I'm sorry it's time to say goodbye to you. It's heart wrenching but please understand, I need a better companion. One who can help me expand my capabilities and enhance my skills, and can perform many more functions that would be too taxing for your poor old body. I thank you for the wonderful memories but I need someone who isn't as bulky as you are and can give me much more memories.

Goodbye my camera, goodbye my friend...

My faithful old Olympus has done me proud but the batteries are failing, charger is lost and XD cards can't store many pictures... so I'm going to trade him in for a newer model today. Oh, this sucks!

Oh, I so understand what you mean. I become very attached to certain items solely based on the experiences we've "shared".
