Today's brunch

YK ate this at the stall several days ago and liked it so much, I decided to cook a big pot this morning. This is sayur lodeh, an Indonesian dish of vegetables (carrot, radish, turnip, cabbage, long beans, potatoes, french beans and hard boiled egg) cooked in curry paste and coconut milk. I added some chicken and dried shrimps to improve the taste. It's served with rice.

Drink is chin chow (grass jelly) for cooling down after the spicy meal.

I can't remember much about this dish, but chin chow - oh I really miss that! I can get chin chow in a can here, but the taste is quite different :(

I've just had a toated currant bun. Not quite the same as your delicious looking dish. Think I will see what I can rustle up from the cupboards now!

Seagrape, you must post your creation on your blog ok.

MH - this is like longtong without the compressed rice. I bought a whole tub of chin chow from the supermarket and YK makes it into a drink. It's really refreshing in this hot weather.

World - he he, sorry to make you hungry again but I'm sure you'd prefer your sandwich cos this kind of Asian food takes abit of getting used to.
