Elephant hunt

This morning, I was at Clarke Quay collecting my race pack for this weekend's The Nike + Human Race. Since I was already out, I decided to swing by Dempsey Road to hunt for some elephants for my garden.

I love this shop that sells Buddha statues and ornamental stone carvings. They will look perfect in my patio but they're so heavy, I could only bring back two baby elephants.

Aren't these elephants pretty? The one I like, on the left, is too heavy for me to bring back. So I chose something simplier. I'll show you when they're nicely settled in my garden.

Those elephants are lovely :D Wifey and me are actually trying to spruce up the place a little and have been out looking for stuff like this but haven't come across any ones that we really like, so the search goes on :D

What about big big big big scary grizzly bears instead of elephants? :)

Could you believe that I bought a wooden statue of a Buddha today?? Great minds think alike :) I wish there were more shops with stuff like the one in your picture here in Malta. I would go crazy buying (or trying to buy) :) So far, I have just found a shop where they sell Asian art :(

Hey Nick, it's fun searching for such stuff isn't it? Some of the ones at this shop are quite 'aged' already, with moss growing on them. Hope you find something you like soon.

Michelle - The ones I chose do not have the special carvings but they have a lovely smile :-)

MH - Yah, these lovely elephants help to bring in good fortune too :-) You should put 2 in your yard.

Hi Wen! What a coincidence! This shop has an indoor gallery that sells lots of beautiful wooden Buddha too. We have more shops selling these figurines because of our close proximity to Thailand and Myanmar. They are really popular with the expats here.
