New oven

Now that we have an oven, I cooked roast chicken and potatoes seasoned with rosemary for dinner last night. Before that, I popped in a small Hawaiian pizza topped with extra Parmesan cheese for YK. Late last night, the kids were cooking another pizza while I was dozing off in bed. I could smell it from the bedroom.

I should start making muffins, pies, pastries, garlic bread and cookies too. Oh, the possibilities are endless. I just have to start the ball rolling. Then again, I don't want to put back the 2kgs I have lost.

Huier - Putting on weight requires no effort at all but losing weight is almost an impossible task. I hear ya!

Well, you don't have to eat all the food you're baking...just take a SMALL piece and give the rest to your kids and CH HA HA HA HA HA...

Btw, I think you're wrong about what you said in my blog: that your mind is often blank. It's clear from what I've read in your posts that your mind isn't often blank he he...

HAVE FUN with your new oven!!! And CONGRATS on losing 2 kgs! I know it's not easy...I find is SO hard even to cut back half a kilo HA HA HA HA...

Dinner sounded delish...and yeah the boys can throw things in the oven and bake them..you might be able to do less cooking!

Amel - You know how when we'll end up with a whole cake and feel bad about not eating it. The kids don't like cakes and biscuits so much. Besides they should also watch their weight. Looks like CH will have to eat everything I bake :-) He will have a pot belly!

JY - Yah, that baked chicken was good for a change. I am running out of ideas! Baking is good cos I won't end up with an oily kitchen.

I have got to make the kids create their own pizzas instead of using the instant ones.

hello blur!!!
long time eh?
sorry about that.
is havin an oven a rare thing over there? i didn't know that. how else do you cook without an oven? this is new to me.

would you like me to send along some recipes for you??

that chicken dinner does sound good.. i used to cook that same meal alot -- back when i was big into cooking.
i need to get back there-- i swear we have been goin out or gettin food to go for a year-- or the better part of it. it's horrible. well, horrible for our bodies, and horribly expensive.
but physically cooking has just become a chore--- i used to really enjoy it. bah.

anyhow-- let me know-- and i will send some recipes. i'm not big on pizza, but i have lots of other ideas.

happy weekend-

Hi Soul! Having an oven is common here but more for baking cakes and cookies than making meals. We do more stir-fries here. But I would love to have some of your recipes. I have been searching for recipes online and it would be great to cook something you're good at too!!

When you feel better, you can do a big cookout again.I read about your pork butt dinner and it sounded so yummy! Get well soon!
