Vampire attack

Someone kept me awake all night. My heart was pounding and it made my blood boil. Pardon me for trying to dramatise but the fact is, I was bothered by a mosquito that kept stinging my hand and buzzing around my ears. I turned on the light and chased it around but couldn't catch it. Then it disappeared. The whole circus started again when I turned off the light.

I always sleep with the windows open, so it must have flown in from outside. There is a large water fountain below our apartment which I suspect becomes a breeding ground when it stops operating at night. Then again, these little vampires could be hiding in my planter box waiting to pounce on me at night.

That blood sucker kept stinging my knuckles and you know how the skin there can itch like hell. I was scratching like crazy yet Rusty was sound asleep with four paws in the air, oblivious to my ordeal.

Talking about Rusty, I spent the evening fencing up the patio using wire mesh to prevent him from tumbling two floors down. He almost gave me a heart attack one day when I found him perched precariously on a narrow ledge outside my patio.

Instead of banning him from going outside forever, I installed wire mesh around the railings. I was working in a very tight space because my palm trees are too heavy to be shifted. So, there I was, crouched like a tiger and squashed like a pancake, securing wire mesh to the railings using cable ties.

It was supposed to be an easy job (for a petite person) but given the constraints, I ended up getting pricked by the sharp wire edges until my skin is cut and raw in some places today. Sigh, the things I do for my little dog.

Kaye - Yah, he has given me many heart stopping moments.

I prefer not to use any gadgets i if i can. The mozzies don't come very often. So far, only a couple of times.

CH - You wouldn't be able to fit into that small area anyway.

EE - Really? I'll put up with them for now. It used to be alot worse at the farm!

CH, its not those electrical sizzling type lah.. That one i also freaked out!!!

Another option, apply those smelly oil that my whole family swears by it... All sort of insects wont come near one... Even a fren who apply it during his NS jungle training also said its effective.

It can be bought in those chinatown shop (selling medicated oil) and from Indonesia!

Your look great in that new avatar !!

We haven't been attacked by mozzie after I pull out our heavy KING size bed & cleaned every corners of the house. Also dig out all the dirt that has accumucated over near to 5 yrs (*faint*) in the toilet drainage.

We have peaceful nights after that. Hopefully it last a long time before the mozzie find their way back to my house again :(

You are such a good master to Rusty. If he can help you to keep those mozzies away at night would be good ;p
