What do you do when you're running late for a date and your dog is eagerly waiting for his walk? Bring the dog along of course!
That was what I did last night. SK was away at a school camp and YK was out with his friends. I had to go to the container yard in the evening. The dog had not been fed or walked all day, so I brought him to the yard, and then for a walk at the park before going out with CH.
It's a good thing CH loves dogs because everything revolved around Rusty last night. First we stopped by McDonalds to get Rusty a hamburger (without pickles of course) before heading to East Coast Beach where he happily chomped down the burger.

Then we walked to Sunset Bay Garden, an alfresco cafe to ask if we could eat there with our dog. The wait staff ushered us to our seat and handed the menu. "Sorry, we have no menu for your dog." he apologised. He didn't know Rusty had already gobbled down a burger!
We ordered beef stew which was really tender and delicious.
I was craving for pizza all day, so we settled for one with pesto chicken on a thin crust.
Mussels are my all-time favourite and these NZ green mussels topped with salsa were yummy.
Rusty sat under the table throughout dinner. He has perfect table manners and would not beg or steal food, so I rewarded him with some small chunks of beef.
We drove to Marina Barrage which is a majestic dam and reservoir. From the roof garden of the building, we enjoyed a panoramic view of our cityscape. It's a very impressive project built to boost Singapore's water catchment and alleviate flooding in the low-lying areas in the city.
Now, back to our date. After Rusty's night out, he was so exhausted he fell asleep as soon as he got into the car. What a baby!

Yes... I too feel blessed to be living here. Singaporeans complain entirely too much. Life is too good. Those who have not encountered great pain, fail to appreciate life's small joys as if these were great in themselves.
you said it about our dear s'pore! despite some of the farnny stuff they come out with, and i sometimes have a whale of time digging at them, i must say s'pore is a very well ran place.
s'porean should travel on their own more often to really understand how it's like living overseas. s'pore is the best asian country in the world!

Yup, SG is very well run despite funny things from gahmen at times. I LOVE SINGAPORE!
We re lucky till the extent that i find we re being spoilt for taking things for granted!

Petunia - It's true. I try to look at the pros and cons but really, being able to go out late at night without worrying about safety is such a good thing. Plus the level of hygiene we have here. Many things to be thankful for.

Kaye - CH always says Rusty eats better than his owner (me).
The thing is, our kids are brought up in such a comfortable environment, they think it's a given. Kids these days can't live without air-conditioning (in fact, their bodies are so conditioned to thrive only in cool environment. My kids think it's strange that I can sleep in a warm room without fan or airconditioning.
