Words don't come easy

For once, I am at a lost here. I have nothing to write about! Blame it on the rain. We drove home through the heaviest downpour and my mood was completely dampened when I saw the damage done to my newly transplanted spinach seedlings.

On days like this, I feel like flushing all the soil and seedlings down the toilet. Well, then I would end up with a bad choke wouldn't I? Then all that crap from yesterday and days before will overflow and perhaps spill into my bedroom. Gee, that's scary enough for me to continue forging on with my vegetable planting.

Ok, enough of that crap. As you know, I have a Bollywood inspired wedding to attend next Saturday. The bride's extremely excited and has been urging the wedding guests to come in their colourful Bollywood best. I"m beginning to feel that my light green 20-year-old Indian dress doesn't do enough justice to the grand occasion. Afterall, CH had ordered himself a tartan kilt months ago just for the wedding and all I did was dig out that faded old gown.

Last night, I found a darker green one and held it up for my family to see. While the rest smiled politely, my younger brother said, "Cannot make it! This is definitely not you." Ok, enough said. I chucked it back into the wardrobe and make sure it'll stay in there forever. In all honestly, those old clothes no longer reflect the new (liberated) me.

I'm going to go to Little India tomorrow to find myself a pretty Indian dress. Something more colourful and lively (like me) so that I can party all night without feeling like a wall flower. It is true that when you don't feel like you're looking your best, you will not be confident. I want to show up at the joyous occasion ready to party and have a good time.

I was quite appalled to read about people criticising Michelle Obama's preference for sleeveless dresses. I think she looks fantastic in them. She's modern, confident and dresses appropriately for all occasions, so I don't see why people should be complaining at all. Besides, her toned arms are to die for! Come on, what era are we living in now? Would they rather see her in some stuffy suit, all covered up but not feeling totally at ease? Please, we have more important issues to address!

We've come to the end of my post. The weekend's almost over but the one-week school holiday will begin tomorrow. That means I get to wake up a little later than usual. Looks like a good week ahead.

It's a human trait to criticize I guess. Even I do it on a sub-conscious level at times without even realizing I'm criticizing someone ...

Have a great time at the Bollywood themed wedding :D

Yeah, I also can't believe people even talk about that topic about Michelle Obama. Just as though there weren't any other more important topics to talk about. Duh!!!

Michelle Obama n her bare arms: I can't see anything wrong with them, tho years ago in Manila, I was prevented from going into the cathedral with bare arms. And also in Bali where temple tourist attractions are surrounded by touts offering to rent sarongs! Once at the Uluwatu temple the touts were taken aback when I produced my own sarong!

Then it happened last month at a temple in Chinatown frequented by tourists. At least in Singapore, the Chinatown temple provides shawls and sarongs gratis!

Auntie Lucia - I didn't know sleeveless is not allowed in temples. I wear sleeveless 90% of the time and when I'm traveling to these holy places, I make it a point to wear long pants but haven't really thought about the sleeveless part. Now that you've mentioned it, I shall always bring a shawl along just in case.

Pls help the recession by spending! Psst, remember to post pic of ur new found Indian attire! :)

I also find it quite boliao for ppl to comment on the attire of those First Ladies. As long as they are dressed appropriately for the occassion, what's the big deal?
