Healthy start

Seeing my 12 year-old niece looking so cute in a little black skirt that could fit me 3 years ago inspired me to go running today. Oh, how my butt jiggled and wobbled with every step I made but it's a good start.

I haven't been running for 7 months and boy, it's nice to be active again. If I keep up with this, perhaps my skinny belt that's looking so forlorn in the wardrobe will see the light again.

As you can see, I'm feeling very upbeat on a Sunday morning. I even bought a bag of healthy muesli to kickstart a healthy week.

Soon we're heading to the marine fish farms. It's beginning to dawn upon me that YK's hobbies are surprisingly similar to his father's. When they were little, their father kept several marine tanks at home. Weekends were spent at fish farms when I wished I was somewhere else. Yesterday I realised that YK's favourite arcade game, right down to the game character, were the same ones his dad used to play. Too bad he doesn't see his father often, or they could exchange ideas.

Unfortunately, being an absent father has made the kids awkward when they see him now. Parenting means being there for the kids all the time, not as and when one feels like it. Like it or not, it takes alot of effort to be a good parent.

Oh well, it's time for us to go fish hunting.

Good for ya! I find myself more energetic and active when I manage my weight too. I'm thinking of signing up for pool aerobics. It's good cardiac exercise minus the pounding that hurts joints etc...

Keep up the running! We're having a heat wave in the UK (we can't seem to handle any weather!) so that's my excuse for not running!

I am struggling to keep up with a healthy routine which includes yoga early in the morning (5h40 am) and trying to eat healthy food as well. The getting really early bit is the toughest part and I can relate to the gap of 7 months not running and then getting back to doing exercise again. It's tough :)
