Low maintenance

YK and I were chatting in the car.

"Mummy! If you were to live alone, you don't need a TV cos you never watch TV. Or a living room for that matter cos you're never in the living room. You also don't need a fridge because sweet potatoes don't have to be kept in the fridge. Then again, you may need a freezer to keep your tao sar pau (buns with red bean paste). But you definitely don't need an oven or a stove. All you need is a room with a steamer, a bed and a washing machine."

Why would I need a washing machine if I don't have to wash their clothes? I just need a bed and a garden so I can grow my own potatoes and cook them in the steamer.

You are, honest to goodness and it's not an over exaggeration on YK's part ;-0 You adhere and practise simple living. Btw, my last night in SHA and I'm totally reluctant to leave.

kaye - we've covered that before in the past. I remember he said something like "When you become old and weak, you'll stay in my house and I'll take care of you. But I won't clean your shit. We'll find someone to take care of that."

Fry - It's funny I can survive on very little nutrition. Then again, my mum is always warning me "Wait till you grow old. All the 'mao ping' will surface!"

EE - I'm just a simple girl living the simple life. Maybe getting too simple lately.

Wen - Conversations with kids can be sweet or horrible at times!

Amel - It's funny we didn't think that way when we were younger. everything must be over the top but we naturally pare down when we get older and wiser.
