Quiet Sunday

Good thing we saw the doctor yesterday, YK's almost well now. More importantly, we all had a good night's sleep. In fact, I woke up so late, I wondered if the market was still open.

By the time I got there, some of the stalls like my favourite fishmonger had already closed for the day. Before I could start buying stuff, the skies opened up and surprised us with a heavy downpour.

Rain was coming down in sheets and there was no way I could walk home without getting thoroughly drenched. I settled down for a cup of coffee at the market and read the Sunday papers. When the rain showed signs of letting up, I quickly made my purchases before hurrying home in case the weather changed again.

The rest of the day went by rather slowly. One of the reasons why the weekend was so relaxing is because we stayed home. In the past, we often drive to the fish farm which leaves me with less time for chores. Going out is tiring especially if the weather is hot and humid.

Whatever it is, I always try to make it back to my parent's place for dinner. As my brothers are busy this week, my parents only had me for company. Somehow, nobody talked about celebrating Mother's Day this year. Just as well because mum is not feeling very well today. We left after a quiet dinner together so that she could rest.

Ah...sorry to hear about your Mom. Happy Mother's Day anyway and hope your Mom's feeling better soon as well as YK. I can imagine how tough it is to go out on a hot, humid day. I just want to go inside the malls where there's aircon ha ha ha...
