Rusty's blog

Mummy is having writer's block (whatever that is) and I'm taking over her blog today. Well, I'm Rusty, so I'll be telling it as is without giving a hoot who I may be upsetting.

I'm living a charmed life. I sleep on mummy's big bed at night with a fan blowing in my face. When it gets too cold, I'll snuggle under her blanket.

Mummy is the first to wake up in the morning. I'll follow her to the kitchen and watch her prepare my breakfast. When she opens the freezer, that means I'll get a freshly cooked meal. If she opens the cabinet and pull out my dried food, I turn and walk away. I simply detest dog food. Who cares if it contains healthy omega 3 oil which gives me a shiny coat!

After breakfast, I will sit by the front door so mummy knows it's time to bring me out. I hate it when she dilly dallies and keeps me waiting. When she grabs the keys, I jump up and down to show my enthusiasm. It's important to keep her motivated.

I like going for a walk with her. She brings me to my favourite places around the neighbourhood. The black cats living in the bushes are the most annoying. They are always snarling at me and ready for a fight, they make my hair stand.

When we get home, it's time for mummy to leave for work. I jump into SK's bed and roll around under his warm blanket until he gets up.

The day goes by really slowly when mummy's not around. I laze around the house doing nothing. I can't believe there are no lizards or birds to amuse me around here. All I do is watch the silly clown fish swimming around in the tank. I wish they would wipe that grin off their face.

I love weekends the most because I go places. I don't really care where we go but I kinda like the fish farms because of the big open space. I like parties too because I get to eat all kinds of yummy food especially pork chops and satays. I was the centre of attention at the party yesterday. The kids love me and the adults think I'm cute.

I like CH's house especially the big metal gate. When nobody was watching yesterday, I made a dash for freedom. Then I saw YK running behind me. Maybe he was playing tag. I ran faster and faster, round the corner until I ran out of breath. YK caught up and scooped me in his arms. Damn! He put me back on the leash again.

I hate Mondays the most. Mummy has gone to work and I lie around at home all day, it's sad. I'll know when she's back. The moment I hear the door open, I dash to greet her. She thinks I'm happy to see her but what I really want to tell her is "Take me out for a walk!"

You're such a nice doggie to do writing for mummy... have her explain "writer's block" to you when she comes home. Be a good boy and do not cause any trouble for her! You do eat fish? (oops..did I just say that..... )

My 12-year-old (who wants to be a professional writer one day) sometimes complains about “writer’s block” as well, she once went on 2 months not being able to write anything. Thank god that doesn’t happen often because she gets real grumpy when she can’t write.

JY - I do eat fish, especially when they're steamed and mixed with rice. If only you could send me some sushi from Japan...I heard they're really fresh and will make my coat very shiny!

CKL - Wow, that's a wonderful aspiration! Tell her not to worry about writer's blog. She can always turn to the dogs for inspiration. :-)

Hello Rusty

It's nice to hear the world through your eyes. I hope you are being a good boy for your mummy today, and not running away. Oh and keep your distance from the snarling black cats!

PS You're a very good writer for a doggie.

Yozz Rusty, you have a flair for writing. Blog-nap your mom's blog and tell the world your life! I am sure it's not as boring as gazing at those silly clown fish.
