Tasty treats

My supplier from Hong Kong treated me to buffet lunch at Ristorante Bologna today. While waiting for her at the Marina Mandarin lobby, I couldn't resist taking a photo of the gingerbread house and a staff in the iconic striking red cheongsum with high slits.

I only meet my supplier once a year whenever she visits Singapore. It's a good thing I bought her a pretty scarf because she presented me with a box of Godiva chocolates. The chocolates are so luxurious and smooth. Simply heavenly!
I spent too much time in the evening sowing vegetable seeds in the garden, so dinner was cooked in a hurry. Luckily the spicy Korean paste came in handy. I made kimchi soup served with Japanese rice which went down very well with the boys.

Since I'll be going to pick mum tomorrow morning for her MRI scan, I decided to bake some strawberry jam muffins for my little nieces. Naturally I used my new muffin pan which turned out to be too big for my oven. The door couldn't shut tightly but the muffins managed to emerge looking alright.

I used the same recipe as the lemon muffins but instead of lemon juice, I stirred some strawberry jam and muesli into the batter.

The muffins are delicious especially when eaten hot. The jam oozes out from the centre when you bite into them. Yum yum! I'm sure my nieces will love them too!

I could live in that gingerbread house!

Those chocolates look divine. And so do those muffins, with the strawberry jam oozing out! Mmmmm.

I'm very hungry now.

Amel - Mum's MRI results will be out only in 2 weeks. Thanks for your concern.

Water - I got mine from Tangs. It's slightly too big for my oven, I should have thought of that before buying.
