Skinny Monkey was here!

This is not Skinny Monkey. It's me in my monkey shirt, just before I donned my apron to do some serious cooking.

Yes, Mother Hen came visiting yesterday morning and spent the entire day at my house! We squealed when we saw each other but didn't hug cos it's not in our blood to hug though we love each other very much.

She wore a cute Laura Ashley looking scarve over her newly permed tresses as an attempt to hide her badly cut hair. It's not badly cut! She's exaggerating of course. She really looked adorable with that floral hankie over her head, I'm already thinking of emulating her style... You little trendsetter!!

Sorry folks, I didn't take any photos of her, or with her as we were too busy chatting and catching up. She did tonnes of wonder in that short amount of time she was here. I'm particularly grateful to her for chatting with my mom, encouraging and cheering mom up on a Saturday afternoon.

She played with my nieces, spent some quiet time reading and helped me in the kitchen, stuffing things into poultry and vegetables. We had yong tau foo (tofu and vegetables stuffed with meat paste), duck (stuffed with 8 treasures), braised chicken, steamed garopa fish and stir fried vegetables for dinner.

For dessert, we had refreshing watermelon and an assortment of sweets. I made glutinuous rice ball soup, my elder brother brought cheese while my younger one baked a nice, buttery tapioca cake.

As you can imagine, we were all pretty stuffed.

Luckily, CH remembered to take some photos of the food.

This is the duck that I steamed for 3 hours.

Here's what we spent our afternoon doing - stuffing vegetables.

Yes JY. I will be seeing her pretty much after this. She'll be around for another few weeks. Her hubby will come too.

I should've framed the duck photo without the head. I think Soul just fainted for real :-D

Haha, I managed to fix that. Now Soul won't have to faint. :-)

Hehe :)
You know what, the curly hair will become very nice wave after 2 months, and it will just get better when the hair grows :)
So do it Ting, you have been having straight hair for such a long time, it's time to change a new hairstyle :)
See, I'm a bad influence :)

MH - I am so tired of my hairstyle too but my hair texture is quite different. It may turn frizzy and become an afro :-)

Haha Seagrape. I tried my best to hide it :-)

In the US, they sell everything in fillets. The kids think the meat and fish are grown in the supermarkets.
