Changing roles

I did a double take when I read that the younger men in Japan prefer to be thinner and more delicate than their women. They like their women to be physically fit and strong, and be the decisive one in their relationship. They think that the world will be a better place this way.

Wow, what a role reversal! For centuries, women in Asia have been known to be the more submissive ones in the household. I have noticed alot of other changes in the mindset of people now. In the past, pre-marital sex was frowned upon and having a baby before marriage was such a taboo but today, it's almost fashionable!

I have noticed some changes in my life too. When I was inspecting containers at the yard this morning, it suddenly dawned upon me that I can almost qualify as a blue-collar worker. I stepped out of the 'glamourous' advertising and design industry to enter into the world of shipping containers.

I'm not complaining really because I love my job... except when I had to do this...

Step into this tiny box which was then jacked up by the forklift...

...until I was right at the top of the stack of containers.

Oh man, I was shivering like a drenched kitten!

when i was in the navy---overseas--- we actually used those---but modified of course, and a bit larger---but still the same thing--as our offices...and my job at the time--since we were on an island, and the salt water was horrible on metal, and planes etc...my job was "corrosion control" on those container/offices things. it really sucked...so i mean, i KNOW how you felt up on top of one...it's a long way down aint it?
ya do get used to it tho. plus if ya get in the middle..you can sneak in a nap---and no one can see you!!!! LOL
latah!
