Good food, great shots!

After a bright and sunny morning, the clouds moved in again and we had another rainy afternoon. By the time we got into town at 7pm, it was no longer raining and the cool weather was perfect for a steamboat dinner.

For the clueless, a steamboat dinner is one where we gather around a hot pot and dunk all kinds of seafood, meat and vegetables in. We had the traditional charcoal-style steamboat at 7th Storey Hotel. The broth was quite bland (which is a good thing because it doesn't have any enhancer or additives) but after adding the prawns, thick slices of fish, cuttlefish, chicken, fishballs, fresh mushrooms, vegetables, tofu and yam, the broth became very tasty. We ordered 'hae cho' (deep fried roll stuffed with prawns, meat and yam) and chicken rice too.

It was a very enjoyable al fresco dinner!

This shot was taken using my camera. Not CH's.

Well, our plan for the night was to try out CH's new SLR camera. So we went to the quiet part of the city to capture some shots of our Marina South Pier. I must say this camera takes excellent pictures at night. See for yourself.

The building's modern architectural design features a striking wave-like roof shelter that captures the splendor of its surroundings, offering commanding views of the sea from a viewing gallery on the roof deck.

View of the Riverboat floating restaurant.

See how well the 18x zoom lens handles close-up shots!

The best thing is... it makes me look quite nice :-)
