Mummy can cook

CH came over for dinner last night. He hardly comes for dinner now that he has moved further away. While tucking into a nice hot meal of sweet & spicy seafood (mussels, prawns, squid and fish), fried bean sprouts and chives, broccoli with fresh prawns, dou miao (young sprouts) and bitter gourd soup, YK suddenly asked me, "You didn't take any photos?"

Then we realised that I've stopped blogging about our meals. The kids remember how 'enthu' I was when we first moved in. I had thematic dinners (Thai, Japanese, Korean, Western or Chinese) and a weekly menu. I bought recipe books and scouted everywhere for ingredients.

All that has stopped not because I had lost my enthusiasm for cooking or blogging but who wants to read about what we eat everyday!? Another reason why I haven't been cooking up a storm is because YK is often out for dinner with his friends. That leaves just SK and me at home. It's tough and not practical to cook an elaborate meal for 2 persons, so I usually prepare something simple like pasta or fried rice.

Maybe if I start blogging about our dinners again, I'll put more attention into my cooking. What do you think?

You can cook. Whether you blog about them or not. No doubt about it.
