I used to think that I have a fear of crowded places. After a visit to the mall yesterday evening, I will confirm that. I had to pick up my airtickets at Bugis Junction and I thought I was smart to get there early before the office crowd moved in... but I was so wrong.
The mall was just packed with people coming in all directions, some strolling so slowly without a care in the world. Being a fast walker, I was weaving in and out of the crowd, dodging people and things, feeling the tension building up inside me. When I finally located the travel agency, I was told to make a cash payment which means that I had to push my way through the sea of people just to get to the ATM at the basement. I joined the long line waiting to withdraw cash. Two of the three machines had already run out of money, so I waited (like forever) for my turn. By then I was so in need to run to the loo, and then back up to the shop.
Initially, I had planned to do some shopping but honestly, after collecting the tickets, all I wanted to do was get out of the crowded mall. That was exactly what I did.
As you can imagine, Singapore is a very densely populated country and it is going to be even more so. I'm glad that I don't have to jostle with the crowd everyday or I can really go mad. I don't think I'm going to do any Christmas shopping this year...

Oh, look at my other Gloxinia! It's amazing how a feeble plant can produce such beautiful flowers.

I know what you mean about crowded places! I work at one of the busiest shopping areas in London. Sometimes I nip out at lunchtime, especially this time of the year, and I am constantly dodging people, bags, cars, umbrellas etc.
It's far less stressful to sit at my desk and write my blog!

Hmmm...after living here in this little VILLAGE with so few people (compared to those in Bandung), I wonder whether I'll experience panic attack when I visit Bandung again. It's also SO crowded these days...traffic jams everywhere. UGH!!! I've never even heard anyone honk their car horns here!!!
Oh dear, poor World! I guess going for a peaceful lunch time stroll in the park is not going to happen for you then.
Amel, I bet you can't tolerate the noise, traffic and pollution in Indonesian cities now. Not just that, it's probably too frenzied and hectic for you.
Yeah, probably so...it's SO quiet and serene here in this little village he he he...
