New beginnings

Today I did something I haven't done in a long long time. I ate a proper breakfast. Instead of eating carbo like steamed pumpkin and sweet potato, I made a tuna sandwich and hope this will see me through the morning without any sleepy spells. I don't like eating savoury food for breakfast and lunch but for the sake of my well-being, I'll change my diet if I have to.

The cute lettuce leaves you see below are from my garden. I'm so thrilled that I can simply walk out to the patio and come in with a handful of freshly harvested greens. How awesome is that!

Too bad my tomato plant is still very young, so I had to use store bought ones this morning. When I was at my parent's house yesterday, I couldn't help but swoon over the cherry tomato plant heavy with bunches of fruit. At any moment, you'll be able to find red tomatoes ready for picking. My lucky nieces get to snack on these home grown organic tomatoes every day!

Best friend and I purchased a whole bunch of supplies from the wholesalers yesterday. Then we returned to our farm for afternoon tea. I served coffee and pineapple tarts and cookies made by yours truly which she thinks is delicious. While driving past our neighbour's sprawling farmland, we can't help but feel discouraged at the size of our competition. I guess we have to start somewhere and hope to make some more progress soon. Here she is, surveying an area of our farm that has been sublet to an agriculture firm for R&D work.

Even though she has been my best friend for the longest time, I used to have that nagging feeling of inferiority when I'm with her. Somehow, now that we have a common vision and mission, I've managed to cast all the unhealthy feelings aside and focus on working towards our common goal. I'm pretty amazed at my transformation. Whether the business works out or not, it's a new beginning and a good one.

It's near noon now. No sign of sleepy spell?

Hey Water - Amazingly no! I think I need to keep changing my diet to 'fool' my body. In the past, I would eat the same thing day in day out until I think my body also protest liao.

so funny ... have to fool yourself like that.

whether the business will florish to what extend is secondary. Being able to evolve to someone you are more happy to be is definitely worth congratulating and celebrating.
